Weight Category Trends
Analysis of results (Total) in a selected weight category over the years.
How to read this page?
The X axis is individual years (not periods) - for each year we look at all starts within the selected weight range.
Weight range is based on the athlete's actual bodyweight, not the official category name for that year. This matters because weight categories changed over the years (different boundaries before and after ~2018) - picking e.g. "95kg" from the list fetches the weight range of that specific, historical category, so other years may be missing results because a different category applied then. That's why a manual weight range option (e.g. "89-95 kg") is also available - such a range works identically across all years, regardless of what the category was called back then.
Best result - the highest total achieved by a single athlete in a given year within this weight range (only their one best start counts).
Average and Median - calculated from each athlete's best result in a given year (one result per athlete). The average can be "pulled" by single very good/bad results - the median is more robust to such cases.
The W and M lines show the real state of the data.
